January MDW Magazine

Hello, my friend! The January Issue is here!

This month always asks us to begin again, but this is not a “new year, new me” issue.

In my Letter from the Editor, I write about choosing something quieter and truer this year. About liking who I already am. About letting go of the pressure to constantly optimize, polish, or perform our lives for public consumption. Instead of chasing reinvention, this issue asks a different question:

What happens when we get radically clear on what matters and let that clarity guide how we live?

That spirit is woven through every page of this month’s magazine.

Inside the January Issue

This 78-page edition is filled with thoughtful, practical, and deeply human contributions from an incredible group of writers, professionals, and local partners, including:

Anique Drouin, our January profile and sponsor, is sharing her compassionate, future-focused approach to collaborative divorce and family transitions

Amanda Klosinski, local artist and designer behind our beautiful custom subscriber gift artwork

Zoe Sherwin, offering grounded financial guidance and a refreshing reminder that you don’t need a new you - just a better strategy

Katie McCall, bringing seasonal nourishment and storytelling through her winter citrus recipe

Blakely Kresl, unpacking our menstrual cycle and cyclical living with clarity and care

• Our trusted MDW Cares providers, Lovey Kaur, Lauren Logsdon, and Lindsey Liddicoatt, are vetted, values-aligned mental health resources just for you or someone you love

DeeDee Mehren, holistic nutritionist and creator of Strong + Lean, a deeply practical health program that supports your body without extremes. So no detoxes, no punishment, just nourishment, nervous-system care, and real-life sustainability

Anique Drouin’s guidance for parents, including a clear, steady article on how to talk to your kids about divorce, centered on honesty, emotional safety, and reducing harm during an already tender season

A supportive, affirming guide for parents navigating when their child comes out from therapist Lauren Logsdon, offering reassurance, language to lean on (and language to avoid), and reminders that showing up with curiosity and love matters more than saying everything “right”

• Plus slow living finds, wellness tools, relationship guidance, astrology, and local events designed to meet you exactly where you are

If you’re holding this issue or opening it digitally, I hope it feels like a return to yourself.
