It’s the season of thawing.
I know that sounds a little weird, but think about how you feel when the first true spring sun hits your face. March invites the earth to soften and pulls away from the winter, and I like to feel that my body and mind follow suit. The image on the cover of this issue embodies the definition of that first "thaw."
The March digital issue of The Modern Domestic Woman is now live. Throughout these pages, we explore that feeling of thawing and how a bit of warmth and light allows us to increase our momentum and capacity emotionally, physically, and within our communities.
I am also deeply honored to feature Angel Ianakiev for our March profile.
Through her work at Anchor Counseling, Angel supports women and families using a variety of thoughtful and compassionate mental health modalities. In this issue, she shares both her story and her professional insight, offering hope and tangible tools for women navigating anxiety and for mothers experiencing intrusive thoughts during the postpartum season.
Angel also introduces readers to the healing power of equine therapy, explaining how horses naturally reflect what’s happening within our nervous systems. Their presence reminds us that healing often begins with learning to pay attention to our bodies, and that, like horses in a herd, we find steadiness through safe, connected relationships.
In many ways, Angel embodies the spirit of this issue.
Warmth. Compassion. And the reminder that healing doesn’t have to happen alone.
My hope is that as you move through these pages, you’ll feel the same sense of thawing that arrives each March. The gentle but meaningful shift when the sun brings warmth to our bodies, days, spaces, and souls.
If you’re emerging from a hard season, let this month remind you that nothing stays frozen forever. Not the ground, not our energy, not our hope.
And as the days grow longer, may you feel that same return of warmth within yourself.

Elizabeth
